A1 Optician provides FREE NHS home eye testing with no admin or call out fees and spectacle fitting services to people aged 60 or over, disabled or housebound residents of:

An overview of the service's key benefits are as follows:
1) The patient can have their eyes tested in the safety and comfort of their own residence.
2) Great selection of frames are available and all spectacles are hand fitted. For individuals in receipt of full NHS entitlement, FREE NHS spectacles are available.
3) Because we are a local family run opticians, we are able to offer you appointment times that suit you. We are able to deal with all requests for spectacle repairs or adjustments promptly and efficiently.
Optometrist Monika Higgins BSc (Hons) and her Associates are all highly qualified clinical ophthalmic opticians who have many years' experience of working with the elderly, those with chronic illnesses, mobility problems or other disabilities.

The Leader of the Pack and the face of A1!
Super passionate about her work and a really lovely person, it’s Monika who comes to see you in your home and carries out the eye test.
When not on the road, Monika is a keen and very high level Ice Skater. Skating since the age of 10, she enters competitions nationally and internationally.
SARAH
Optical Manager
The voice on the other end of the phone and the numbers guy!
When you book your appointment, it’s Dave you’ll be chatting to. He’s also the man behind the smooth running of the business.
Away from the computer, David is often found at the gym or cooking up some healthy storm in the kitchen!
JOHANNA
Optical Assistant
The promoter of the business, Sarah’s job is to spread the word about A1 be it online, on the phone or via face to face meetings.
Away from the scene, Sarah is a professional Cuban Dancer and when she’s not working with A1, she’s training for national and international shows.
Johanna – loved by all!
She’s bubbly, friendly and goes on home visits with Monika to assist with the setting up of eye tests.
Away from the vision board, she’s planning exciting outdoor adventures with her beautiful kids and dogs.
